I was really looking forward to our annual trip to Wisconsin Dells for Karie's cheer comp. A time to spend together as a family. No work. No school. Just fun!!!
The first night was family night which was great. Kegan played with Kellan in the living room of our condo and seriously was the cutest thing ever. He doesn't really ever play with him unless we are in the car because he says hes boring. I get it, Kellan can't play Legos or Minecraft. So it was nice to see them playing together.
First Kegan put Ruff in front of Kellan. As you can see he is working very hard on getting up on his knees to crawl. We aren't ready for that.
This picture kills me. I took so many but I decided to only share one. This photo shows the sheer joy in Kellan's face that his brother is playing with him. He loves his big brother oh so much. Kegan loves K too he's just "boring right now". lol
The next two days were filled with cheer. All things cheer. Karie is clearly loved as you can see by all her door signs. Of course the first thing she did when we got home was hang them all up on her door. After next season there won't be any more room for them on her door. lol
It's crazy how far these kids have come. Most of them were new this season but you would never know. They worked so hard! I'm so proud.
I am also excited to see that Karie was a flyer this season and got over her fear for the most part. She still gets a little scared but she has overcome so much.
The girls came in 2nd place. That is crazy! At the MOA they were in 9th...out of 10 teams. Then comes nationals and they place 2nd out of 10 teams! Way to go girls!
The coaches should be so proud of their kids. They push the girls in the best way possible. They push them to smile and do your best and it's so wonderful to have them apart of our lives.
No trip would be complete without a very mini shoot of Karie. Duh.
And of course with her and Emmie. I mean, they are cheer besties! I love these two little girls so much!
The weekend had many naps too which was great. On Sunday the kids were all in our room watching cartoons. Karie runs over to me and says "Mom! Look at Kellan!"
Karie was snuggling with him in bed watching cartoons when he fell asleep. She was so happy that he fell asleep next to her. He slept for 2 hours right there too!!
I can't tell you how many times I wiped lipstick off Kellan's head. All the girls wear red lipstick and since K is irresistible of course there would be a lot of kisses on this poor kids head. HAHA
Once all the cheer stuff was done for the weekend it was ME TIME! The only thing I wanted the entire weekend was a giant Bloody Mary. I had one last year but was pregnant and I couldn't drink. This year of course I had to have one with booze in it. Looking at it again makes me want a Bloody. YUMMY!
After what seemed like the shortest me time ever it was back to kid time. Kid time was the pool. I didn't see the bigs at all while we were there expect when Karie spotted K. Then her and Emmie ran over to see him. The rest of the time they ran around going down water slides in the kid area. Kyle took them on the lazy river and I snuggled with K while he slept.
He wasn't sure what to make of the water park. It was loud and there were kids everywhere!
He did however LOVE it when we sat him in the water to splash.
He would splash so hard he would almost tip over. He would get water in his eyes and mouth and continue to splash just as hard. He didn't care, he had so much fun!
The last day we spent in the dry park. The kids played a billion games and went on a billion rides. I got to be the carrier of all the things including the baby.
The kids were nice enough to share their game card with me so I could play a little ice ball. I'm pretty sure they only let me because they knew I am good at the game and could get them tickets. haha
So much has changed since we were here last year. It's crazy to think how much more will have changed come next March when we are here again!!
