CHEER!!!!

Since this IS a family blog I really should dedicate some posts to the bigger kids too. I mean, they are important! Without them our family wouldn't so big and so awesome!

Karie had a big cheer comp over the weekend. It was a two day comp. The first big one of the season. We have two more. February and March I think. Karie loves them. She told me that she wishes we had two day comps every weekend. This mama doesn't. They are long, they are exhausting and did I mention exhausting? Kegan doesn't come. He gets bored. I don't blame him. There isn't much he can do there. So he stays with either my mom or Kyle's parents. Kellan came with the first day but the second day he stayed with Kegan at Kyle's parents. It's a long day for him mostly spent in the carrier. While he loves to hangout in there, it gets long for both of us.

I was so proud of Karie this weekend. She went up in the pyramid stunt which she was really nervous about. She told me both days she had a weird feeling in her tummy. I could tell she was nervous when she was out on stage because she never smiled. I don't blame her though. It was the biggest stage they ever performed on. It was an actual stage. Normally it's on the floor. It was really cool to see.

I didn't get the greatest photos but something is better than nothing!!

Karie was thrilled to bring her American Girl doll to the comp this weekend. She forgot it at the last couple and made sure she wouldn't this time. We still need to find this doll some white tennis shoes.

I'm really proud of how well they did the first day. They had a few hiccups but they looked amazing.

Of course we had to get our photo with Shawn. He may not be Karie's coach anymore but Karie ADORES him! If you knew him, you would too. He's basically a human teddy bear.

I walked around with Karie & Emmie towards the end of the day. These two. They are so cute. I can't believe how much Emmie has grown since last season. She looks like a giant compared to Karie. I know they are almost 3 years apart but good grief!

I didn't get nearly enough photos of the girls playing the morning of the 2nd day. They all looked so cute!!!

On the 2nd day the girls did even better than the 1st day. I was so crazy proud. I know I say that after every single comp but it's true. I was able to get more close up shots too because I brought the right lens. I was bummed that we weren't able to be right up at the stage like the coaches could. This event had their own photographer. Too bad the photos were WAY over priced and they didn't get any good shots of Karie at all. I bought some at the first comp Karie ever did. They never gotten any good ones since. Lame.

I love this photo. The night after the 1st comp Karie wanted to craft. She created this canvas for Shawn. It was so sweet. She was so worried he wouldn't like it which is just crazy. Of course he would like it. And he did. She was thrilled.

I was able to get in a shot of Karie & I too. We haven't had one in a while. The last one was from The Dells back in March when I was pregnant.

We also had to find Josiah to get a picture with him too! We always have to have a photo with our coach!!!

Emmie brought her American Girl doll the second day too. After awards the girls somehow scored these awesome sun glasses and I had to get photos of the girls wearing them. They look so silly and awesome!

Karie's team placed 2nd out of 5 teams. They were really close to first and fought hard to get it. With all the hard work they have been putting in at practice I bet they get 1st at the next comp.

Way to go girls!!
